The beautiful Tarras Nature Reserve is 10,500 acres and is the largest community land buyout in Scotland with rolling hills, fells, and marshes this is a beautiful and ever-changing landscape. There is a wide range of wildlife to discover with Hen Harriers and Golden Eagles to be seen as well as many other wee beasties and birds. Given the location of the nature reserve, there is even the chance to stargaze with the possibility of catching the Northern Lights in the Autumn and winter.

Seven Stanes
The Seven Stanes is perfect for cyclists, seven mountain bike centers spanning the South of Scotland from the Borders to Dumfries and Galloway. Each location has a stane (which is Scottch for stone) depicting the myths & legends of the area, these stanes are easy to find and stand between one to three meters high.
