Welcome to Your Four-Legged Paradise!
We don’t just tolerate dogs here—we absolutely adore them! To make sure your furry best friend has the holiday of a lifetime, here is everything you need to know about our super dog-friendly stay:
-
Make Yourself at Home: Yes, dogs are allowed on the furniture! Go ahead and enjoy those bedtime cuddles guilt-free.
-
Travel Light: No need to pack the whole house. We happily provide cosy dog beds, fresh bowls, clean blankets, and dedicated doggy towels for wiping down those muddy paws after a long walk.
-
Dinner is Served: On your very first night, your pup will get a complimentary, delicious Doggy Meal made right here in our kitchen, plus plenty of tasty treats to keep those tails wagging throughout your stay.
-
Paws for Thought: All we ask is that your humans keep you on a lead in the main public corridors, and please use your dedicated doggy towels (rather than the white human ones!) after a wet walk.
- The Vibe: Flat, scenic, and perfect for an easy morning or evening stroll right on the hotel's doorstep.
- The Route: This walk takes you past the historic Castleholm cricket ground, looping around where the famous Common Riding horse races take place. It follows the River Esk, offering plenty of safe spots for water-loving dogs to have a splash.
- Dog Perk: Mostly flat and open, giving your pup plenty of space to sniff around the fields.
- The Vibe: A proper hill walk with breathtaking, panoramic views of the town and surrounding valleys.
- The Route: Head up through the woods onto Whita Hill toward the iconic 100-foot-tall stone obelisk (The Malcolm Monument). On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Solway Firth.
- Dog Perk: Perfect for high-energy dogs who need a good workout.
- Note: Please keep your dog on a lead if sheep are grazing on the open hillside.
- The Vibe: Enchanting, mature woodlands filled with wildlife, rivers, and leafy paths.
- The Route: Part of the Langholm Walks paths, this route takes you through beautiful old estate forestry along the River Esk. It’s wonderfully sheltered, making it the perfect choice on a breezy or rainy day.
- Dog Perk: Endless stick-chasing opportunities and fantastic forest smells to investigate.
- The Vibe: A steady, quiet climb up the opposite side of the valley from Whita Hill.
- The Route: Follow the paths up Warbla Hill for a different, equally stunning viewpoint of Langholm nestled in the valley below. It's typically quieter than Whita Hill, giving you a bit more peace.
- Dog Perk: Great for an off-lead run in the designated open areas, provided your recall is sharp!
