Langholm

Based in the Muckle Toon of Langholm, Crown Hotel, Langholm is one of the oldest coaching inns in the borders of Scotland built in the early 1800s. Husband and wife team Samantha and Steven bought the hotel in 2020 making the hotel family run again. Along with their team, they continue the tradition of warmly welcoming two and four-legged, weary travellers. Dogs are always welcome.
 
With a secure area to house bikes we welcome both cyclists and motorbikes.

Local Attractions

Langholm is nestled between 4 hills the largest of which is Whita which stands at 300 meters above and home to the Malcom Monument. The moment is named afer Sir John Malcom one of ten 10 brothers who family were tenant farmers in Burnfoot.
 
With 14 wayward marked walks with a walk for all abilities from gentle relatively even to the undulating hills around the toon, Most of the walks start and end in the toon, there is ample parking at Kiln Green with the majestic Esk flowing past, there are 3 EV charging points to recharge your car.
 
If you are looking for nature then the Tarras Nature Reserve is on the door step and the largest communit buyout of its kind, with 5,200 acres bought in 2021 and an additional 5,300 acres bought in 2022.
